Seven Hills Hideaway, Glamping in Brecon Beacons, Wales

Say hello to a little slice of Welsh heaven, and hidden away it certainly is. Nestling on the edge of the Brecon Beacons, this is Seven Hills Hideaway, luxury glamping on a 16th century farmstead.

Seven Hills Hideaway Starry starry nights

Francesca and her family have farmed this area for six generations, the family decided to diversify, rather than sell their farm. And glamping seemed the way forward. Having spent some years as a child in Kenya, Francesca came up with the idea of having safari lodges. Reminding her of times spent under canvas staring up at the starry sky! Now she, and you get to stare at that starry sky from the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, one of five International Dark Sky Reserves in the world.

There are three lodges to choose from, Skirrid Fawr (named after the mountain you can see from the verandah), The Blorenge and Sugarloaf. Each one has a proper bed, with snuggly duvet and luxurious cotton bedlinen, that’s the essentials sorted! Francesca has also included, log burning stoves, complimentary toiletries, fully equipped kitchen and comfy sofas.  But don’t fret, the lodges aren’t completely off grid. They have enough ‘on grid’ life in them, to power a hair dryer or charge your phone.

A very special place

Each lodge is settled within a meadow to give Interior of Safari Lodge, Seven Hills Hideawayyou privacy. Essential for chilling out on your own verandah and in the lodge hot tub. On the farm you’ll be able to explore the 110 acres brimming with wildlife, as well as getting in touch with the farm animals.

It’s not all about the glamping, the surrounding area gives you lots of exploration opportunities. Abergavenny is just 5 miles away, further afield you’ll find Monmouth, Hay-on-Wye and Hereford. For more physical exploring, the valleys await you, along with historic churches, castles and a vineyard.
